A small bakery
with a big table.
Sourdough on Summerhill is a small-batch artisan microbakery in West Michigan, specializing in naturally leavened breads, hand-shaped bagels, seasonal scones, cookies, and handcrafted pantry favorites.
Everything is made by hand using traditional techniques, long fermentation, and carefully selected ingredients. Quality over quantity, always, so every bake carries the flavor, texture, and character that only real sourdough can bring.
“Good food brings people together, one handcrafted loaf at a time.”

Hi, I'm Amanda.
I am the head baker behind Sourdough on Summerhill, a homegrown microbakery built from equal parts flour, faith, and fresh starts. A few years ago, life looked very different.
In 2024, our family's home was destroyed in a devastating fire. As we began rebuilding our lives, I fell and broke my arm, leaving me with radial nerve palsy and months where I could not bake at all. So I studied. Fermentation, technique, hydration, artisan bread. I was determined that when my arm healed, I would be ready.
When I could finally bake again, those months of learning turned into loaves, bagels, scones, and a whole new way of serving my community. Every loaf is still made by hand, with slow fermentation and simple, wholesome ingredients, because great bread should not be rushed and neither should the relationships built around the table.
Sourdough on Summerhill is more than a business name. It is a reminder that even after life's hardest seasons, new things can grow.
